Aly Murray, LMHC

I specialize in working with individuals with a history of any kind of trauma, severe anxiety, and/or grief. My approach is especially helpful for clients seeking somatic-based processing to address symptoms such as emotional flooding, panic attacks, emotional numbness, chronic tension, and feeling stuck in survival mode. My goal is not only to help you understand why you feel the way you do, but to equip you with realistic strategies that help you process emotions, build safety within your body, and experience lasting relief.

My approach is more than talk therapy. I help you build an understanding of the nervous system's response to emotional pain and make connections to experiences that you've had. Together we process those difficult experiences in a safe, regulated way, helping your mind and body feel less stuck in survival mode so you can heal and sustainably move forward.

You don't have to have it all figured out before reaching out. Having goals in mind is helpful, but it is not required for us to get started. I meet clients wherever they are at even if it means starting with "I feel terrible and I need help".

I am here for you when you are ready.

 FAQs

  • Before beginning my graduate studies, I worked as an in-home family specialist, where I gained a deep understanding of family systems and trauma-informed care.

I went on to earn my degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling with a certificate in Advanced Trauma Care from Bay Path University and worked for a community mental health clinic. During that time, I honed my skills supporting and helping people while pursuing my license in mental health counseling.

In 2025, I transitioned into private practice to continue supporting those healing from trauma and navigating complex life experiences. My goal is to create a compassionate, grounding space where clients can feel safe exploring their stories and building toward lasting change.

  • I work with adults with experiences including but not limited to the following:

  • I meet clients where they are at and help them figure out where they want to go. The in between is where we walk together at your pace. I like to learn what helps you best; do you need someone to sit and witness your story, or maybe you need someone who is going to help you stay accountable to your goals. I am a hard worker in the sense that I do everything I can to help you do the hard work, but I have the awareness to slowdown when necessary and be present in the moments where you might need to simply feel safe or need a laugh. Working with me means that we will show up together to "get the work done" while also sharing laughs and celebrating the mundane.

  • What started as a fascination for psychology in a psych 101 course turned into a career of furthering my understanding of how experiences can impact a person's functioning. I loved learning about the different approaches that can help people lead different lives. It is like what they say about love; "when you know you know" and I know that I love helping others navigate mental health.

  • I am always looking for realistic and accessible ways that people can improve their mental health and overall lives. I look for content that translates into psychoeducation or a tool that clients can use in and out of therapy sessions.
